What are Categories and Why Do They Matter?

Categories are one of the fundamental building blocks in Tubes Booster. They help you organize videos, photo galleries, or other content into main topics that make sense both to your visitors and to search engines.
Think of them as “shelves” in a library:
Categories are the large sections (e.g., Sports, Movies, Music).
Tags are the smaller labels that describe details (e.g., Football, Action, Jazz).
Why are categories important?
Better navigation: visitors quickly find what they’re looking for.
SEO: search engines understand your site structure and reward organized content.
Content strategy: lets you see which topics perform best and plan future uploads.
In the Tubes Booster admin panel, go to: Menu → Settings → Categories
Here you’ll see:
a list of all existing categories,
options to edit, delete, or deactivate categories,
and the “New Category” button to create a new one.
How to Create a New Category

Title: This is the short, clear name of your category. This title also appears in your site’s menu, so we recommend using a single word, maximum two words (e.g., Sports, Movies).
Slug: The unique URL for the category, automatically generated from the Title. This becomes the category’s permanent address inside the system. Tip: use lowercase letters, dashes instead of spaces.
Description: The text description of your category. This can be longer and will be displayed on the frontend, so visitors will see it. Include helpful details and relevant keywords.
Parent Category
Parent Category: Select this if you’re adding a subcategory. If it’s a main category, leave it blank.
Status
Online/Offline: Defines whether the category should be visible to the public (Online) or hidden (Offline). Tip: Use Offline if you’re preparing content that’s not yet ready.
Category Image (Thumbnail)
It’s highly recommended to add a thumbnail image for your category. This image will be shown to visitors within the CMS and makes the category more attractive.
Tip: Always choose an image that directly relates to the category name. Use consistent sizes and styles (recommended: 1200×630 px).
We’ve enhanced categories with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) options:
SEO Title: The search engine title (can be different from the main category title).
SEO Description: A short meta description (under 160 characters) that shows in search results.
SEO Keywords: Optional keywords. Some search engines still consider them, so it’s good to fill this in.
Tags serve a slightly different purpose than categories. They’re used for internal linking across your website. The tags you add to a category will appear on its frontend page and link related content together.
Recommendation: Use tags that are thematically close to the category (e.g., for Technology → AI, Blockchain, Startups). Sometimes micro-niche tags are also used to capture very specific audiences.

Once finished, click Save.
You can always come back later to edit the Title, Description, SEO fields, or Tags.
Editing is simple and requires no coding knowledge.
Keep it simple: 5–10 main categories are usually enough.
Don’t overlap categories and tags: they each have a different role.
Unique descriptions: every category should have its own original text.
Consistency: decide whether you’ll use singular or plural in titles, and stick with it.
Regular reviews: revisit your categories occasionally and reorganize as your content grows.
For better internal linking of the website, set the tags correctly.
